The Ugly Truth

I’m not sure about anyone else, but I see many women that have literally created a mask on their face. Why? I find myself bombarded by these ‘artistic’ creatures, facing the many painted on eyebrows, and spider leg eyelashes. Thinking about this, I asked many men and women what they think is unattractive in the realm of makeup. I found many people agreed with the things that women should not be doing to their face. Is it really necessary to have a caked on face? So now my friends, I share the ugly truth about women’s makeup:

1)    The painted-on eyebrows. Ladies- put the tweezer down. I know plucking is our friend- but this is only sometimes. If you have to literally paint on eyebrows, it means you’ve been a little too tweezer happy. Grow those puppies out- I know it’s going to be ugly- but it’s necessary. There’s a subtle way in dealing with the brows- grow them out, tone down the use of a eyebrow pencil and relax a bit with the plucking. That’s all we ask.
2)    Lip liners. Hmmm. Well, let’s just say lip liner is supposed to be the SAME color as the lipstick. I don’t know why we see an outline of your lips. It looks like you ate ice cream and forgot to clean your mouth. You don’t need to define your lips, by creating an array of colors on your lips. Easy with the two-tones.
3)    Spider eyelashes. A lot of women tend to get mascara happy- adding to the clump on the lash line. I know we all love mascara, but your lashes are not meant to be bumpy, spider looking, and clumpy. It’s disgusting. It looks like a disease is growing on your lash. Take it easy with the mascara wand.
4)    Too much blush. It’s too much when you can see a clearly defined line between the foundation and blush. I know we get a little wild with those larger brushes, but we’re not supposed to look sunburned with the amount of blush put on. It’s called blush for a reason- it’s supposed to look like an understated flush.
5)    Too much bronzer.  This fantastic product is often used in the wrong ways. NO- you don’t need to cake it on all over your face. No- this shouldn’t be used as a pressed powder. We don’t want a bunch of oompa lumpa’s running around. That shit’s scary!
6)    The cake effect. This type of woman tends to put on layers of foundation, concealer, and press powder. Why do you find it necessary to put that much shit on your face? Where did your face go? Even if you have bad skin- this technique is not justifiable. Just saying.
7)    The neck and face struggle. This is when you see a clear difference between neck and face colors. Sometimes the face is lighter than the neck or vice versa. Ladies, I know our necks tend to be a different color than our faces- but this is a slight difference. Find something that blends into your neck. Come on.
8)    Foundation colors are something women have a hard time with. You DO NOT need to get a foundation that is the color you want it to be. Foundation is the supposed to be the same color as your skin. Stop trying to change the color of your skin. You are not tanned or whiter than you think. Your eyes are NOT playing tricks on you.
9)    Raccoon eyes. This can be achieved in two ways: way too light of a concealer under the eyes, or smudged mascara/eyeliner everywhere. Concealer should be at the most 2 shades lighter than your skin tone- not 10. Stop toughing your eyes and rubbing your makeup everywhere. It looks like you got punched in the face.
10)  Last but not least. Why do some women not wash their face at night? The next day you look like ass, and on top of that it’s not good for your skin. I don’t care how drunk you are or how bad of a night you had. Sort yourself out.

The ugly truth- clearly stated. Please feel free to comment. As for the smoky eye video- I won’t be able to post this till next week. Please feel free to comment and discuss your makeup DO NOTS. Truth hurts- suck it up!
